Deepa Varghese is a financial professional with over 23 years of experience. Working in diversified industries and across various functions within the Finance and Accounting sector has allowed Deepa to develop deep knowledge and expertise in financial operations, financial investment modeling, finance structure, and corporate governance. Her work experience has been in real estate development, media, education, banking, and manufacturing.

Most recently, Deepa’s role as part of the legacy financial planning team for Expo 2020 Dubai led to her overseeing the legacy finance function, developing complex real estate business models and feasibility studies, and advising the company leadership on investment strategy. She also excels in developing new finance functions within start-ups and advising the best way to set up finance and accounting divisions and requirements for projects or companies.

Deepa is a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant, Chartered Global Management Accountant, and has her Master’s in Business and Financial Management. She is currently writing a thesis on the economic impact of Expo 2020 on the UAE as part of her Doctoral Program. She is also enhancing her knowledge of ESG and Sustainable Finance at Oxford University.
